"Taken for Granite"

Film: The Golem: How he came into the world (1920)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical/Man-Made

Location: Civilized area

Height/Weight: Slightly larger than the average human.

Affiliation: Good, then Neutral

Summary: There's no greater hope for a man than to have someone else do his work for him. In some cases, like the one that befell poor Rabai Loew, this is warranted, and not an act of laziness. And sometimes, just a man won't do...

History: Loew's hometown of Prague was about to get involuntarily evacuated by the Holy Roman Empire, so he needed to find a way to protect his people's way of life. Apparently, the simple solution was to create a large superhuman out of clay, call upon the power of Astaroth the demon prince, and bring said superhuman, a Golem to be exact, to life. Surprisingly, the Emperor's amazement at the creature changed him mind about kicking out the population, and the day was saved...until Astaroth holds his end of the bargain by possessing the Golem.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After Loew exorcises Astaroth out of the Golem, it stumbles upon a group of little kids, one of which accidentally pulls out its life-giving amulet, causing it to collapse.

Powers/Abilities: Very strong and invulnerable.

Weakness: The amulet on its forehead is what gives the Golem life. Without it, it cannot move.

Scariness Factor: 3-That angry face the Golem pulls off while under Astaroth's control is rather off-putting, and it's a nigh-invulnerable juggernaut, but without any demonic control, it's a rather loyal and gentle giant.

Trivia: -Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel was a real historical figure recognized as a supreme philosopher on the ethics and beliefs of the Jewish population.

-The Golem is named after the Hebrew phrase meaning "to be incomplete", as it doesn't contain a soul and/or the ability to speak in most legends.

Lets see her try to climb him now.

"A little help here!"

More of a fantasy endeavor, really.

"Do I really need an invitation?"
Truly the start of something incredible.

"This title is caving in on me!"

"Am I late?"

His first birthday was something alright.

The hometown of Caligari was not forgotten, it seems.

"I! DO! NOT! LIKE! RAISINS!"
